His first position as conductor
In 1982, at the age of 25, his career took a significant turn when he was appointed conductor of the Coral Polifónica El Eco de A Coruña, a prestigious historical choir deeply rooted in the city. His main task was to prepare the choirs for the city’s opera season. He would hold this position in two distinct periods: from 1982 to 1986 and from 2007 to 2011. This opportunity opened doors to the world of choral music, opera, zarzuela, and orchestral conducting, a long-held dream. It was the starting point for his decision to pursue orchestral conducting, and he began his studies at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid, where he attended classes between 1986 and 1992.
