Throughout his career, he has been responsible for the creation of several conservatories and music schools, as well as the founding of three chamber orchestras and two symphonic ensembles in Galicia. As a guest conductor, he has collaborated with leading Spanish and European orchestras. In the field of composition, he has written and recorded more than two hundred works, covering a wide variety of musical genres.

In 2000, he founded his own production company, through which he promotes a new concert offer in Galicia, promoting local musicians and artists. For more than two decades, he has worked with more than four thousand Galician professionals, both in conservatories and schools and in the concerts, shows and tours that he has organised without interruption.

Currently, Vázquez Arias is mainly dedicated to the composition and dissemination of his work, as well as to the direction of the Coral Polifónica Follas Novas de La Coruña.
